Important Information: Procedures for Opening New Accounts
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see you driver's license or other identifying information.

DHCU Community Credit Union is committed to offering financial products and services that allow you to reach your financial goals. You provide important information about yourself to a variety of businesses and organizations. In fact, when you do business with DHCU Community Credit Union, you're asked to provide us with personal information. This information is important because it helps us get a better picture of your needs, improve our service to you, and complete your transactions more effectively. We realize that along with gathering information comes responsibility. That's why we've developed privacy policies by which we operate. These policies outline how we use and safeguard the information that is given to us. For this reason, we ask you to please read the following information carefully.

Privacy Policy
DHCU Community Credit Union recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information about our members and will make every effort to protect their financial privacy through compliance with the Federal Right to Privacy Act, known also as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Protecting each person's right to privacy is fundamental to the quality of account owner relationships.

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources and may disclose all the information we collect to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf and other financial institutions with whom we have have joint marketing agreements. To protect our members' privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentialitity protections and limit the use of information we provide. We do not permit these companies to sell to other third parties the information we provide them:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees and officials who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law. If you decide to terminate your membership or become an inactive member we will adhere to the privacy policies and practices as described in this notice.

Who is eligible to join DHCU Community Credit Union?

DHCU Community Credit Union is available to the following:

  • You live or work within the Quad Cities branches which includes a 50 mile radius of any of our branches located in Milan, Moline and East Moline, Illinois.
  • You are related by blood marriage or adoption to one of our current members
  • You are employed by or retired from the John Deere Harvester Works, Moline & East Moline Plants, Product Engineering, Silvis; Moline Seeding Division,
  • Your are employed by one of our sponsor companies
  • You are retired from one of our sponsor companies

If I complete an application on the DHCU Community Credit Union web site, what do you do with this information?
We use this information to complete the request and/or transaction. We may share personal information with our business partners in order to deliver products and services which you have requested (for example, obtaining a credit bureau report if you applied for a loan). With some of our business partners we have strict confidentiality agreements in place in which your personal information will not be used for marketing purposes.

DHCU Community Credit Union will not sell personal information to a third party for the purpose of solicitation.

Who has access to my personal information at DHCU Community Credit Union?
Your personal information is only accessed by DHCU Community Credit Union Staff responsible for completing your request and/or transaction. Subsequent DHCU Community Credit Union Staff access to your personal information is done to complete another request or transaction that you authorized. Access to your personal information could be required of DHCU Community Credit Union under applicable law. You have free and unlimited access to your personal information stored at DHCU Community Credit Union. To get access to your personal information you can call us at 309-796-7500, or send a signed request through the fax or U.S. Mail indicating the personal information you desire. You may request to change your personal information by sending a signed request through the U.S. Mail or faxing a signed written request.

If I send you an e-mail, what do you do with it?
When you communicate to us through e-mail, we use your e-mail address only for the purpose of responding to your comments or questions.

DHCU Community Credit Union does support an optional List server, which provides Members and potential Members with information about products and services. You always have the ability to unsubscribe. To unsubscribe, you may contact us by e-mail, phone, fax, or mail.
Your e-mail address provided in order to join the list will not be sold, nor will it be shared with others outside the credit union, unless we are required to do so by law.

Do you use Web tracking software? If yes, what do you do with the information gathered?
Yes, DHCU Community Credit Union uses web tracking software. We do collect the information about the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (example: interaccess.com, or att.net) and the site from which you came from. We use this information for internal analysis only, which helps us improve the content of our web site for your future visits.

How is my account information with DHCU HomeBranch held private from other people going to your web site?
We store no member information on our web server that is accessed by the public. All account information is housed on computers that are behind our firewall (protected area). The web server only passes information between your browser and our computers located behind the firewall, and vice-versa.

When using DHCU HomeBranch, what kind of security procedures are in place to protect my personal information?
All DHCU HomeBranch sessions are authenticated and encrypted. The authentication of a DHCU HomeBranch session is handled through your Account Number and Access Code combination, which is required at login. The Access Code is the same that is used when conducting your TellerFact (automated phone response system) transactions. You do have the ability to request a new Access Code to use DHCU HomeBranch and TellerFact when you sign up for the DHCU HomeBranch service. In addition, you have the ability to change your Access Code in the Maintenance section of DHCU HomeBranch.

Is the information on DHCU HomeBranch timely and accurate?
Yes. All information and transactions conducted during normal business hours are handled on a real time, online basis.

NOTE: The DHCU HomeBranch access time is going to be subject to the constraints associated with the Internet. The faster your Internet connection, the better your performance will be on DHCU HomeBranch. Throughout the application we have applied design consistency to the DHCU HomeBranch pages to improve loading. We recommend that you use at least a 56kbs modem when connecting through DHCU HomeBranch.
